  • FUT removed Inferno
  • The MongolZ picked Nuke
  • FUT picked Mirage
  • FUT removed Dust2
  • The MongolZ removed Overpass
  • Ancient was left over

Map 1: Nuke; Pick: MongolZ; Winner: FUT

2-0 start for the MongolZ on the T side of Nuke failed to give them the start they hoped for on their own map pick. As FUT found its footing on the defense, we saw a complete recovery to edge out the first half with a 7-5 lead. MongolZ cut the deficit and pushed into the lead with a solid start to their defense. Despite the start, MongolZ failed to convert as the half progressed, leading FUT to demonstrate their T side prowess, pushing the game over the line with a 4-round streak. Starman Krabeni stood out as the top performer with 21 kills that sealed a 13-10 win for FUT to kick off the semi-finals.

Map 2: Mirage; Pick: FUT; Winner: FUT

Starting strong on the offense, FUT were quickly shut down by the MongolZ from the first gun round. Solid hold with proper reads ensured FUT didn’t get to run all over them as they did in the last map, as a 5-round streak by the Asian side closed out the first half with an 8-4 lead. After FUT lost the pistol, they got on the board by converting their force buy and almost threatened to complete the comeback. However, MongolZ forced the game to OT with a force buy conversion. Winning two on either half, FUT outlasted MongolZ with a 16-14 scoreline, with dem0n topping the charts with 28 kills.

The team playing in the Grand Finals for the first time can be quite the mental challenge, and unless FUT lets pressure get to them, Astralis is in for a lot of trouble.
