Map 1: Train; Pick: FURIA; Winner: FURIA
Starting strong in the pistol, FURIA managed to take an early lead on the T side, with the Falcons’ defense letting round after round slip. As Falcons somehow managed to pull together a few rounds in between, FURIA closed the first half with a win to start their defense with a 7-5 lead. FURIA’s bright start was leveled as Falcons began their offense with a win and rallied until they took the lead. FURIA hit back after Falcons had already roped in 4 rounds and leveled the scoreline. Having gone down, Falcons pulled back to hit map point first, but FURIA leveled it to take the game to overtime. Starting in OT, FURIA ran a perfect offense to push the map over the line and take an early lead in the series.
Map 2: Nuke; Pick: Falcons; Winner: FURIA
The Pistol round win secured an early lead for the Brazilian side, while the Falcons’ struggle was noticeable in the early stages of the map. Having started on the back foot, the star-studded roster recovered to level the scoreline before closing the half. Going 3-0 up in the offense, FURIA found themselves in a position of sheer advantage before Falcons hit the scoreboard with FURIA being one round away from series point. While the Falcons got close, FURIA shut them down in the final round to play to secure a Grand Finals spot.
FalleN system is working, and this win proves that they are truly capable of hanging with the big names despite the results of the past indicating otherwise. While this makes sure that they are in the Finals, nothing but a win tomorrow would convince the world that this was anything but a fluke. Consistency is what FURIA lacks, and it looks like they are on the right track to change that narrative.
