A number of Counter-Strike 2 skins have skyrocketed in price following the January 21st update, with certain cosmetics jumping by more than 200% in less than 12 hours.
The latest CS2 update was a big one, kicking off a new Premier Season alongside introducing a series of new content to the game.
The new additions in the CS2 Premier Season 4 update include a set of fresh community maps, a limited-time Armory skin, and two brand-new skin collections that can only be dropped as part of the weekly care packages.
To make room for the new skins in the weekly care packages, some of the previous collections that used to drop prior to this update have been removed. With the CS2 Premier Season 4 update, Valve has removed four skin collections that were actively dropping in the weekly care package up until today.
The following collections have been removed from the CS2 weekly care packages with the latest update: Dust 2 collection, Inferno 2018 collection, Nuke 2018 collection, and the Safehouse collection.
Shortly after the update, skins like the MP7 Fade, M4A1-S Control Panel, and SG Integrale skyrocketed in price, as the collections they belonged to were no longer dropping in the game.
Note that the MP7 also received a significant buff in the latest CS2 update, which also contributes to the sudden increase in price tags of MP7 skins across the board.
It remains unclear whether Valve will reintroduce the removed collections in the near future. However, if past trends are any indication, a return is unlikely to happen anytime soon, if at all.
