Boostgate Esports and Team Zone have secured the final two spots at the MLBB M7 World Championship Swiss Stage after strong performances in the Wild Card Stage held in Jakarta, Indonesia. With their qualification, the full 16-team lineup for the next phase of the tournament is now confirmed.
The M7 Swiss Stage will begin on 10 January in Jakarta, with teams competing for a USD 1 million prize pool in one of the biggest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports events to date.
Boostgate Esports Earns Swiss Stage Spot with Upset Win
Boostgate Esports made headlines by defeating Virtus Pro in a close 3-2 series during the Wild Card Finals. The win came as a major upset, as Virtus Pro entered the match unbeaten.
This marked Boostgate Esports’ first international appearance, and their performance helped them secure qualification for the Swiss Stage. Their run showed how new teams can challenge established names on the MLBB global stage.
Team Zone Completes Comeback to Secure Qualification
Team Zone also claimed a Swiss Stage slot after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Guangzhou Gaming. The team made a strong impression throughout the Wild Card stage and remained undefeated until the finals.
After falling behind 0-2 in the final series, Team Zone mounted a reverse sweep to seal qualification. Known as one of the youngest teams at M7, the squad reached the tournament through independent efforts and preparation, including bootcamping in Malaysia.
MLBB M7 World Championship Swiss Stage Format and Key Matchups
Starting 10 January, 16 teams will compete in five rounds of Swiss Stage matches. Teams that secure three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage, while the rest will be eliminated.

Each match will play a crucial role as teams fight to stay alive in the tournament.
The M7 World Championship marks the return of the M Series to Indonesia for the first time since M4 in 2023. Jakarta will also host the first-ever M Series Opening Ceremony on 9 January, followed by the M7 Carnival from 23 to 25 January. The events aim to celebrate Mobile Legends esports while showcasing Indonesia’s strong esports culture and fanbase.
