With Embark officially confirming the dates of the first Arc Raiders Expedition, players are already finding themselves hard at work to collect all the necessary materials for their first departure.
The Expedition, which is set to depart on December 22nd, requires players to finish building their Caravan and reach a specific stash value before that date to unlock its full range of benefits
Confused about whether you should participate in the first Arc Raiders Expedition? Here’s everything you need to know about the wipe before committing any resources to your own Caravan.
What is Expedition in Arc Raiders?
The Expedition in Arc Raiders essentially works as a “Prestige” system, and is Embark’s answer to the mandatory inventory wipes that have become standard in many other extraction shooters.
Upon participating in this Expedition, players will be able to get several bonuses on their accounts, ranging from permanent enhancements to a series of limited-time boosts. However, in doing so, they’d have to bid farewell to their entire stash, accumulated coins, blueprints, and more.
Embark has already revealed a detailed list of what you’ll lose and what you get to keep upon participating in the Expedition. Take a look at the list below:

Fortunately, participating in the Arc Raiders Expedition is completely optional, and if you don’t feel like resetting your inventory, you can wait for the next departure window to get your first permanent account upgrades.

Arc Raiders Expedition Stash Value Requirements
To get the maximum amount of benefits from your Expedition, you’ll need to accumulate a certain amount of stash value before your departure.
As confirmed by the developers, players can earn up to five bonus skill points based on the total value of their Stash and Coins at the time of departure, which means one million Coins worth of value equals one extra skill point for your new Raider.
Needless to say, accumulating five million coins in total stash value is no easy feat. As a result, Embark’s decision to set such a high requirement for earning the five skill points has sparked controversy within the community, with a portion of the community arguing that it will further fuel players’ “gear fear” and discourage them from bringing high-value loot into their runs.
That said, you’ll still receive every other Expedition bonus even if you go in with zero stash value. The five skill points are the only reward directly tied to your total stash value in the Arc Raiders Expedition.
Arc Raiders Expedition Bonuses
Players will get the following bonuses upon participating in the first Arc Raiders Expedition:
Permanent Unlocks
- The Patchwork Raider outfit
- Scrappy Janitor Cap
- Expeditions Indicator icon
- Up to five Skill points (depending on Stash value)
- +12 Stash space
Temporary Buffs
- 10% repair buff
- 5% xp boost
- 6% more materials from Scrappy
The Skill Points, extra Stash space, and cosmetics are permanent unlocks, but the account buffs will expire if you don’t choose to depart in the next Arc Raiders Expedition. If you do, though, these buffs will further increase in power for up to your next three expeditions.
