GTA VI Insider Warns of Another Delay

Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, a highly credible source for GTA VI insider information, has hinted at the possibility of another delay in the game’s release. With the last confirmed launch date pointing to a release 11 months from now, reports suggest that there is more work to be done than can be accomplished within the given timeline.

Schreier has revealed in the Button Mash podcast that his dialogue with individuals within Rockstar and close to the GTA VI project suggests that the game is far from complete, with the developers actively working on adding features and finalising missions, which puts the current release date in question, which puts the current release date in question, as no one within Rockstar can confirm it.

“The last I heard, it was still not content complete,” Schreier said. “People are still finishing things up, finalizing levels, missions, seeing what’s going to make it into the game.

“They are still making stuff and will hopefully be done with that soon and have a whole bunch of time for fixing bugs,” he added.

With the game already being delayed twice at this point and the release date being pushed as far as one year from the initial date has greatly impacted the morale of the fans who sit in anticipation of what could be one of the defining moments in the history of gaming.

Rockstar has neither accepted nor denied the claims of the veteran reporter, and given how he suggests the game is in the development phase and is yet to enter the final polishing, bug-fixing, and testing phase, give more than enough reasons for fans to worry about another delay, which might see the game pushed as far back as 2027.

With all the turmoil within Rockstar, including layoffs, restructuring, and more, the company’s reputation as well as its future hangs largely on the success of GTA VI, which can see the company either rack up billions in profits or turn into a sinking ship. Having such high stakes, Rockstar would be wary of releasing an unpolished game and, therefore, making another delay highly probable.
