How to change servers in Free Fire

Free Fire OB26

Garena’s Free Fire is currently one of the most popular games in the Play Store. Originally released in 2017, the battle royale saw a recent surge of players following the ban of PUBG Mobile from several countries for having ties with Tencent, a Chinese company.

Once you create an account in Free Fire, it is automatically assigned to your nearest server to play the game in. Players are given no freedom to choose or change their servers in the game and are stuck with their nearest server whenever they queue for a game.

However, changing servers in Free Fire is still possible through using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and we’re gonna show you how you can change your Free Fire server right now:

  1. Download a VPN of your choice.
  2. Go to settings and clear the app data of Free Fire (Make sure you have bound your current account to Google or Facebook before you do this.)
  3. Use the VPN to change your location to your desired region/server.
  4. Launch Free Fire.
  5. Create a Guest Account.

That’s it! Now you can play Free Fire as much as you wish in your desired server. If you’re looking to bind this account, use the VPN to create yourself a Google/Facebook account, and then bind it with the guest account you just made. Once done, you can switch the VPN off but your server will remain the same.

Be warned though, changing servers may sound exciting but you’ll have to face considerably higher pings which can be a serious problem when playing fast paced battle royales like Free Fire. However, if you’re certain that you can handle the extra latency, feel free to go for it.
