Only a few weeks ahead of the Valorant First Strike tournament, Riot has revealed the official ruleset of their competitive policies for Valorant esports.
The First Strike major has been confirmed to take place from December 3-6. It’ll be the first Valorant tournament to be officially organized by Riot, and will follow a strict set of rules which players must follow in order to participate in the tournament.
For starters, players need to be over 16 years of age to be eligible to play in the Valorant esports scene. The minimum rank has also been restricted to Immortal 1+, which means even if you are Diamond 3 you won’t be able to enter the pro scene till you raise your ranks. Another interesting rule is that for each team, at least three out of five players have to be from the same region.
Riot Games also seem to have taken strict measures in maintaining the competitive integrity of their esports scene. Suspicious players will be manually checked by their anti-cheat team instead of solely relying on Vanguard. “To further supplement our competitive policies and ensure fair play, we’ve built a strong partnership with the VALORANT anti-cheat team,” the blog said. “Along with our tournament partners, the anti-cheat team helps us review instances of suspicious behavior during competitive events.“
