AOC Sets up Twitch Channel to Stream Among Us and ‘get out the vote’

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known by her initials AOC, is looking to get the vote out by playing one of the most popular games of 2020 on her Twitch stream today.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who serves as the representative for New York’s 14th congressional district, has hinted at the possibility of streaming with popular twitch streamer Pokimane.

It all started with a tweet from Cortez, known by her initials AOC, when she tweeted that she found the game fun, which caused a bunch of streamers to respond to her.

Among the first was one of the most popular streamers Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who replied by saying “It’d be an honour”, to which AOC replied in the affirmative.

Several other famous online personalities like KeemstarJames Charles and Disguised Toast joined the bandwagon, which caused the tweet to go viral and have more than 200k+ likes on it.

Among us is a social deduction game similar to mafia where the 2 teams, crewmates and imposters try to outwit each other. If the imposters kill all the crewmates before being caught they win, whereas crewmates need to find and vote out the 2 imposters or finish their tasks to be the victors.

“Anyone want to play Among Us with me on Twitch to get out the vote? (I’ve never played but it looks like a lot of fun),” she wrote on Twitter. Gamer Pokimane responded to the politician’s request, offering to join her for her first stream. “Let’s do it!” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez wrote back. “I’ll set up an account and get some streaming equipment today.”

AOC Twitch Channel?

AOC later tweeted that her Twitch channel has been set up, and as she is getting her equipment and setup in place, it should not be long before the much awaited stream will take place.

It is the first time a politician has shown a keen interest in the game that went viral this summer, and will garner a lot of interest when the stream finally goes live.
