Elimination matches at ESL Masters 2016 – Day Two

ESL Masters 2016 is underway, the games finished on day one which concluded the draws for winner brackets and loser brackets. Day two at ESL Masters has been rough for many and a second opportunity for a few as the eliminator matches were played today at NODWIN Gaming House, Gurgaon.

The double elimination format follows the best of three rule in the loser brackets, thus the games on day two were the survival panacea for most of the teams as they had enough chances to get back into the league following their day one loss, yesterday.

The first loser bracket game between Team Overcome and Evolution Gaming concluded with the Indian side taking two maps straight without having an urge for the third one in the best-of-three series. The following game also saw Destructive 5 taking down Elements in a similar fashion, they went on to send Elements packing before defeating them 2-0.

Correspondingly, the tournament favorites, Risky Gaming eliminated Overcome out of the tournament in a convincing fashion, they beat them twice consecutively 16-6 and 16-11. In the other leg of loser brackets, D5 knocked Brutality out of the tournament in two successive maps, doubling their confidence. Destructive5 with Astarr were able to beat Brutality 2-0, they face Risky Gaming – again – further in the loser brackets.

  • Invisible Wings – upper brackets
  • Dare 2 Dream – upper brackets
  • Risky Gaming – lower bracket
  • Destructive 5 – lower bracket

The winner of Invisible Wings vs Dare 2 Dream will advance to the grand finals of ESL Masters 2016, whereas the loser will play against the winner of the match between Risky Gaming and D5. Follow this space to get more updates on ESL India and other gaming events in India.
